Spherical plain bearings and rod ends for motorsport are basically the same as those for industry. However, industrial bearings are not suitable for motorsport. The requirements for the bearings are different from those for mechanical engineering. Very important are the high demands on function and load capacity. For this reason, we have developed the motorsport series. These are specially designed for the high loads and speeds in motor sports and offer optimum performance.
Our motorsport rod ends and spherical plain bearings are available in different series, in metric dimensions or in inch dimensions, dimensional series K or E, maintenance-free with PTFE sliding film, maintenance-required, with V-groove or without, for rod ends as internal or external thread, right-hand, left-hand or fine thread. The bearing clearance is always reduced for motor sport bearings. We develop special designs or customised bearings based on your requirements.
Spherical plain bearings and rod ends are a special form of plain bearings and are subject to the DIN ISO 12240-1 and 12240-4 standards. Within the standards, the dimensional series, tolerances, radial internal clearance and dimensions are specified. The standards are very broadly defined, so that a large number of sliding pairings, materials, surface treatments etc. are possible. The designations, the load ratings as well as the service life calculations are not subject to the standard and thus differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Depending on the series, the spherical plain bearings and rod ends of the motorsport series are partly completely within the standard or are manufactured based on the standard.

The technical principles of our spherical plain bearings and rod ends can basically be transferred to the motorsport version. However, the tolerances are tighter and the bearing clearance is reduced to achieve higher precision and load capacity.
